Hi, I’m Jonathan

I’m the proud owner and operator of Tanglewood Customs, which is located in Memphis, TN. I’ve been providing services in the Memphis area since 2010, when I decided to start this business. I have a passion for woodworking, design, and building furniture. I’m consistently in awe of the unique beauty of the woods I get to work with, and the unique properties of the different species available. It is an absolute joy to explore the possibilities of such a dynamic material.​

These days, my time is mostly spent in my workshop designing and building Furniture, exploring the exquisite art of woodworking, servicing my clients, and spending time with my family and loved ones.

I find myself driving out to the country to meet with old farmers and ranchers, sifting through old stockpiles of hardwood lumber to purchase. I look for locally grown hardwoods, and hidden gems in old barns, and I truly believe that its worth the extra effort to procure most of my materials this way because it keep things local. I’m continually amazed at the world around me, and i feel my work is a way to express, and share the beauty i see.​​​

I also spend a lot of time dreaming of the future, and planning carefully to ensure that my efforts don’t go to waste. In fact my ultimate goal beyond being able to do my craft, is to establish a multi-generational family business. Everything i do is a building block towards that dream, and I’d love for you to be apart of that story, and maybe some of my work will end up being a part of your story.
